Behind the Numbers
  • Averaging $96 billion a year in sales over the last three years, the U.S. staffing industry is bigger than the U.S. motion picture industry.
  • The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that employment services (which is mostly staffing) will be among the top 12 industries with the largest growth in 10 years, adding more than 600,000 new jobs.
  • BLS projects that jobs in employment services will grow nearly two thirds faster than overall employment, 23% from 2010 to 2020, compared with 14% for all industries combined.

Exhibitors—Repeat Success Drives Demand
  • More than 65% of the expo hall for 2012 in Las Vegas had already been reserved onsite by the close of the 2011 New Orleans show.
  • 85% of exhibitors say they would likely exhibit again in the future
  • 70% would recommend exhibiting to others
  • 70% of exhibitors have exhibited two or more times; 41% have exhibited at least six times
Attendees—Repeat Shoppers and Decision Makers
  • 60% have been in the staffing industry at least 10 years—only 7% have been in the industry less than three years.
  • 85% visited the expo hall at least three times—and nearly three-fourths made five or more visits.
  • 42% make final purchasing decisions, and 50% influence their firms' purchasing decisions.
