The past year has seen a significant increase in employer audits and fines. Join a panel of senior level representatives featuring Victoria A. Lipnic, commissioner of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Seema Nanda, deputy special counsel of the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division, Office of Special Counsel for Immigration-Related Unfair Employment Practices, as well as Jennifer Marion, senior advisor, Wage and Hour Division, U.S. Department of Labor, to discuss their respective agencies' wage and hour, immigration, and antidiscrimination enforcement agendas and efforts, and what those mean for staffing firms.

There often is a disconnect between indemnity commitments made by staffing firms and the insurance coverage that is available to support them. This disconnect usually is not recognized until a substantial loss occurs. This session will address traps for the unwary and ways to avoid them, and will include a primer on types of coverage common to the staffing industry, and how they apply.

ASA and its business allies have been working to mitigate the impact of the Affordable Care Act on employers with large numbers of part-time, temporary, and seasonal employees. This session will discuss the proposal requiring that employees work up to a full year before employers are obligated to offer health care insurance coverage or pay penalties. The panel also will discuss how staffing firms can comply with the law's minimum health care benefits requirements which go into effect Jan. 1, 2014.

Back by popular demand, this open forum will give attendees the opportunity to ask presenters questions that may not have been covered during earlier sessions.
